ENGLISH VERSION
1.Hi! Could you first speak us about your last great album, “Heading Northeâ€? Do you enjoy this release? Alex: Thanks for the kind words! Yes, we are extremly happy with our new album “Heading Northe”, and believe it is our strongest output to date! It took us almost a year writing, demoing and finally recording the material, and every second has been worth it! The album is a real teamworking effort, and all band members invested so much time, blood sweat and tears. We are overwhelmed by the positive responses we are receiving for this record right now, so we must have done something right! 2.Could it be possible there will be a picture version disc and vinyl of your last album? Alex: We are negotiating concerning this and there's hope there will be a vinyl release in the future. Still I can't give you any more details since nothing is official yet. So far, every Stormwarrior recording has been released on vinyl, and we definetly want to hold on to this tradition. Keep your fingers crossed! 3.How do you feel about the metal scene in Germany ? Alex: The metal scene in Germay is very healthy at the moment, with lots of new bands emerging bringing out exciting records. The fans are dedicated and act as a unity, no matter if they are into true metal or black metal. That’s really a hotbed for the scene. The general interest in Metal has been conceivably high recently, even media-wise, and many young fans are discovering this type of music. It really is the perfect advance base for Stormwarrior! 4.In 2006, you have played in Japan . What are the basic differences between Japaneses and Europeans? Alex: Actually it was between November and December 2005. There are differences between japanese fans and maybe the ones in Europe, although I wouldn't say that someone is better than someone else. Japanese tend to be very accurate and polite when talking to you. They look at you as genuine rock stars and are waiting for you in the hotel lobby for hours just to catch an autograph. It was like they were freezing with respect each time we came down there. They are also very dedicated and know everything about the band and its members. Fans in Europe have a more direct approach, they just come up and have a chat with you and are more informal. It’s more of a buddy-thing over here, which is also cool. A pretty strange thing was that many japanese fans came to our shows dressed like businessmen in suits and having briefcases, since they had been working in the office before. Have you ever seen a business guy headbanging like mad? Go visit Japan J 5.Has your "Live in Japan" has been distributed in Europe ? And why not ? Alex: Yes, “At Foreign Shores – Live in Japan” has been released in Japan as well as in Europe. I think the european version came out in June 2006, whereas the japanese version even came out a month later. Maybe it was not available everywhere in Europe, since our previous record label didn’t have enough connections for a real worldwide release, which has also been one reason to change the record label behind us… 6.Did you enjoy your gig at Wacken last summer? I guess you were happy to play with Kai Hansen... Alex: The show at Wacken with Kai has been an awesome experience, although we had some problems with the monitoring on stage. It’s always cool to play with Kai. I mean, he’s our friend and also our mentor in some ways, and still we have the highest respect for his achievements in Heavy Metal! To play songs of “Walls of Jericho” and hearing his singing was like a dream becoming true. Kai is fun to work with, he’s very energetic on stage and you certainly are being carried away by his positive charisma. 7.We are fans of Stormwarrior and were at your show at WOA and it seemed to us that the sound was not as good as it should have been. Have you ever heard this kind of comment? Alex: As I said before we had problems with the stage monitors. The sound on stage was quite messy and it was hard to realign. The fans seemed to like it though, because reactions were phenomenal during the show and also afterwards. You are the first one really confronting us with that. In general, it is more complicated achieving a decent sound when you are doing open air festivals, since there is almost no time doing complete sound checks and also the weather might interfere. 8.Why did you leave Remedy Records for Dockyard 1 and are you happy with this new collaboration? Alex: I won’t go that much into detail, as we are still friends with the guys at Remedy Records and we won’t denounce them. It was just time to move on and lift Stormwarrior to the next level, and with Dockyard 1 we are receiving an enormous promotional campaign in support of the new record. We are very happy working with them, and they are into the record and are making it their top priority release. It couldn’t get much better for us, really! However, there will be a live-DVD of the show we did at Wacken in 2007, and it will still be released through Remedy Records so we are still on good terms with them, too. 9.Have you plan an european tour to support your new album (maybe a show in France )? Alex: Of course we will take every opportunity touring our asses off in support of our new album, and we sincerely hope we will come to France and meet all the crazy headbangers there soon! So far, many festivals like Magic Circle Festivel and most likely Sweden Rock have been booked, as well as shows in Greece, Hungary, Slovenia. We will do anything to raid shores all over Europe very soon, also the french ones! J 10.You play true heavy metal. Do you think you should play another kind of music? Alex: Definetly NO! We do the music that we love and feel, it is in our blood basically. Stormwarrior will always stand for genuine heavy metal, and we are proud of that!!! We won’t change, that’s for sure! 11.There have been some bands like Accept, Helloween, Hammerfall...Acccording to you, we are in Stormwarrior's time? Alex: Yeah, it’s about time for us to finally conquer the world of heavy metal! J No seriously, We hope we will be doing some steps further in our careers with “Heading Northe”, and as far as the reactions go we will have a splendid future! 12.Thanks for your time! The last words are yours... Alex: Thank you very much for this interview, and thanks to everyone reading it! Hope you will like “Heading Northe” and that we will be able to have some beers together at one of our shows in the near future! Merci beaucoup & Heavy Metal is the law!
