ENGLISH VERSION
1) For the people unfamiliar with your band, please introduce it. We are the V8Wankers, hell yeah !! We are around since 8 years now, have four full length albums under our belt, plus many vinyl releases. We played hundrets of shows so far and won´t stop until we drop. Maybe some of you saw us with Rose Tattoo in Paris back in 2005 ? 2) How can you best describe your music? Well it´s just dragstrip Rock n Roll but we like it. We also call it Big Block Rock or beer-for-breakfast R n R. The music press would describe it as Speedrock. That pretty much, says it all. 3) How long did it take to make the album, from concept to CD? This time it took us a real long time. There are over two years between the new album an the last and it took us a year to put the new CD together and get it released. But it was worth to wait for it, I guess. 4) So, your new album has finally been released a couple of weeks ago, how are the reactions so far? The reactions were realy good, we got good reviews in almost all big metal and punk rock magazines and toured with WASP last christmas. Awesome !!! 5) The name for your band is catchy, how did you come up with it? Is there any special meaning behind it? It was another drunk idea I had back in 2000 when we formed the band. I was crazy about my new muscle car (the 1970 Olds 422, I still own) and the band should be all about mean machines with V8 big blocks so the V8 became the first part of our name. Moreover we were never very popular with our old bands in the local music scene because we come from the very unpopular low life town of Offenbach, next to Frankfurt. So we decided to call ourselfes wankers right from the start to back up our reputation. V8 Wankers were born and the slogan « listen if you don`t like us, we don`t care, we are wankers anyway » 6) What do you see as the main differences between now and back when you just started out as a band?
7) What bands are you influenced by lyrically and musically? What other things influence your lyrics? Of course Rose Tattoo, AC/DC and Motörhead, but also Elvis and the Stray Cats. 8) What bands did you grow up with? Most of all AC/DC and later I became a Rockabilly guy because of the Stray Cats and then I returned to Metal and Rock 9) What are your all-time favorite albums? AC/DC / Highway to hell. The Cult/ Electric. Stray Cats/Stray Cats. Creedence Clearwater Revival/Best of 10) Top 5 bands/albums our readers should have at home? Wyldfyre/ Can you say kool? (my new Rockabilly solo project) 11) What does V8 Wankers hold for us in the future? New Split 7” singles as usual, We will do songs for upcoming tribute albums like a WASP tribute or a Stooges tribute, several summer festivals and then we will slowly start to work on new material for the next album. 12) Any plans for an upcoming tour? Of course! We probably will support Girschool on their 30th anniversary tour this year and we were asked to support Peter And The Test Tube Babies on their tour around Christmas. 13) Anything you guys want to add? Yeah, thanx for your interest in us out there, hope we meet somewhere on tour.
