ENGLISH VERSION 1) About your new album "Book of the dead", what was your state of mind during the composition process ? We wanted to make the album a bit heavier yet with lots of melodies. It was a lot of hard work and determination and late nights. The state of mind I guess was different on each song, but it’s mainly about dealing with your fears and a great deal of humour. 2) What does the tittle means for you ? The title ‘BOOK OF THE DEAD’ is taken from the ‘EVIL DEAD’ movies which I am a big fan of. It is about awakening the devil while reading from the book. 3) According to you, what changed the most in this album, comparing to « Nosferatu » ? I think that “Book Of The Dead” is a bit heavier and more aggressive than “NOSFERATU”, yet very melodic. The album is also more diverse. You have got everything from fast melodic tracks to heavy riffing tracks to progressive tracks to a slow and very dark ballad! We have worked a lot with the sound and tried to put emphasis on the details yet trying to keep the sound heavy. The power of Michael’s vocals also adds a new and heavier touch to the sound. But I still think this is only details, the two albums are very similar. 4) Would you change anything of the recording if you could ? No, once a record is done, it’s done. 5) How would you describe your music today ? Modern old school classic metal with lots of melody… 6) What this album is still gonna be on Metal Heaven, how did you met them? A lot of labels were interested in the demo of ‘NOSFERATU’ but the big labels needed to hear more songs. Unfortunately some of our best stuff was not on the demo, like “Nosferatu”. We didn’t have any resources to record more songs. Metal Heaven gave us one of the best offers and we had heard that it’s a reliable label with good promotion for its size. They have been great so far and I know they see the potential of the band and will do their very best. Hats off to the crew at GerMusica promotion too. 7) Do you think that today there is a new rise of old-school bands like you or Skyward, Manitou, Dionysus, Dominus Praelli... Not really, I think it will stay the same for a while. 8) What do you think about the european heavy metal scene ? I think the European heavy metal scene is ok, but there is always room for new bands with new ideas and sounds. It has to evolve otherwise it will get boring. 9) Music is your life !!! Yes, it would be great to be able to live of the music, but it is very difficult. We all have got to have daytime jobs to support our music. 10) The cover art is very nice, would you talk a bit about it, about its meaning? I’m glad you like it. On the cover “Nosferatu” is in Hell reading from the book of the dead. Demons and other creatures are flying out of the book. It is actually a contradiction because reading from the book will awaken the devil, which is himself… I wonder what would happen? 11) What can we expect from Bloodbound in the future? After the summer we will started to write on our third album that will hopefully take us a bit further and establish the band even more so we can go on a big headliner tourJ 12) Last words... Stay metal, and we hope to see you soon on tour sometime in the near future. Thanks for supporting bloodbound!!!
